Come Together is a series born from a desire to explore the multiple dynamics of connection visually. Colorful raw recycled silk sari ribbon represents the ties of both connection with oneself and another person.

There are cycles I’ve observed in relationship dynamics, across friendships, romantic relationships, colleagues, strangers & beyond that I wanted to express in these images.

I intended to capture a sense of ambiguity within the work because I feel like that is authentic to the experience of a lot of connections I’ve had in my own life.

The degrees of connection are varied and span a range of emotional experiences and cycles. From desire and attraction to bonding and belonging to tension and sorrow and mourning and letting go, I hope this series can evoke new questions and considerations for how we connect authentically with others.
